Timberwolves win Game 3 in Denver by 17 points
The Minnesota Timberwolves took a 2-1 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night with a 116-99 victory in Denver.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the way for the Timberwolves with 33 points and 13 rebounds, while D'Angelo Russell added 26 points and Anthony Edwards chipped in with 21.
Nikola Jokic had 26 points and 19 rebounds for the Nuggets, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Timberwolves' hot shooting.
The Timberwolves shot 50% from the field, including 41.7% from three-point range, while the Nuggets shot just 40.6% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.
The Timberwolves also outrebounded the Nuggets 50-34, and they had 16 assists to the Nuggets' 11.
The Nuggets will need to find a way to turn things around in Game 4 on Sunday night if they want to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole in the series.
